37TH IMA COURSE GOLDEN
JUBILEE REUNION (14 - 16 JUNE 2016)
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. The 37th IMA Course will
commemorate its ‘passing out’ and commissioning at a Golden Jubilee Reunion
(GJR) to be held at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun (Uttarakhand),
from 14 June (Tuesday) to 16 June (Thursday) 2016.
Eligibility to Attend
2.
Officers,
their spouses and spouses of deceased officers commissioned with 37th
Course IMA will be eligible to attend the Reunion. This includes 28th
ex NDA, 20 NCC, 7 OTU, 37 Regular (NCC ‘C’ Certificate), 37 Regular (TA
Officers) and 21 Technical Graduate Course. Other guests and / or children are
not permitted by IMA.
3.
Ladies,
whose late husbands were commissioned on 15 Jun 1966 from the above courses are
most cordially invited for this gala event and will be the honored guests of
the Course, while at IMA. Travel arrangements, to and from Dehradun will however,
have to be kindly made by the ladies themselves. Course mates(CMs) in the
respective same stations are requested to personally contact these ladies and
extend invitation on behalf of the Course to attend the GJR. These CMs are also
requested to assist the ladies in making arrangements, as also accompanying
them, where feasible.

Travel Arrangements to and from
Dehradun
5.
Travel
to and from Dehra Dun will be under attendees’ own arrangements.
6.
Reception
and dispersal arrangements will be organized by IMA; SS Patwal has kindly
agreed to coordinate with IMA.
7.
Reception
detachments will function at Jolly Grant (Dehra Dun) Airport and at Dehra Dun
Railway Station from early 14 June 2016. Reception arrangements will cater for
transport to and from the Airport/ Railway Station. Officers arriving by own
transport should drive to the Reception at Main Gate in front of the Chetwode
Building (on Chakratta Road) from where they will be guided to Manekshaw
Battalion location.
8.
Those
attending GJR are requested NOT to arrive at IMA before 0600h 14 June 2016 and
to depart NOT LATER than 2359h 16 June 2016. However, those constrained to arriving
on 13 June due to train timings/ air connections, are requested to inform SS
Patwal, who will try and assist in obtaining accommodation for night 13/14 June
at Dehra Dun, to the extent possible. Such officers will have to arrange their
own transport to reach the Reception at the Main Gate, as in Para 7 above, in
the forenoon of 14 June 2016.
9.
Arrival
and departure details as per Appendix B (to include Personal details (IC No.,
Rank, Name, decorations); mode of travel (air, train, car); flight / train
details; date and time of arrival/ departure may kindly be furnished to the
Reunion Coordination Cell, IMA latest by 1st Jun 2016 with a copy to
SS Patwal.
Accommodation, Messing and Transport
10.
Persons
attending the Reunion may stay under their own arrangements. Those who choose
to stay within IMA will be accommodated in GC’s accommodation in the Manekshaw
Battalion. Rooms will be allocated on a ‘first
come, first serve basis’, i.e. on receipt of the financial contribution
(as per Para 23 below). It may kindly be noted that IMA/ Organisers will NOT make arrangements in cases where
financial contribution stipulated is not made in time. It will be in interest
of all attending GJR to ensure that their contribution (Para 23 below) reaches
the SBI account well before
30 Apr 2016.
11. All attendees of GJR will be accommodated in
the GC’s rooms (a room set consists of a bedroom with att toilet and a sitting
room) in Manekshaw Battalion at IMA. Those desirous of staying outside IMA
under own arrangements may do so; they are requested to intimate the same,
while forwarding information at Appx B.
12. All meals, except otherwise specified, will
be served in the Vikram Batra(VB) Mess. Drinking water, tea and coffee on a
self service basis, will be available in the rooms.
13. IMA will provide bus-based transport support
for all GJR related group activities within the Academy. Parking for individual
vehicles is extremely limited within IMA and therefore, officers travelling to
IMA in their own cars, are requested to desist from using them within and
instead use transport organized by IMA.
14. Accommodation, messing and transportation
arrangements under care of the IMA will be in place from 0600h 14 June 2016 to
2359h 16 June 2016.
Reunion Souvenirs
15. Persons attending the Reunion will be
presented with a copy of the ‘Reunion Group Photograph’. In addition, IMA will
present each participant with a ‘Then and Now’ photograph. This will have a photograph
of Chetwode Hall in the background, with “photo as GC” on the left and “recent
photo” on the right. For this purpose, each officer is to send a recent
passport size photograph to Pradeep Sharma or if by post to KK Nanda (Please
see contact details in Para 32 below). Please write down the following four details
on the reverse side of the passport size photo (or below photo being scanned),
GC No, IC No, Company in IMA at the time of passing out and name you wish to be
written on the ‘then and now’ photograph.
16. Wives of our late course mates attending GJR,
may please send a passport sized photograph of herself and her Late husband, as
a couple or alternatively a single PP size photo of her late husband, if such
photograph is available to CMs mentioned in Para 14 above. Ladies are also
requested to write down the above mentioned information on the reverse side of
the photographs. If GC No. or Company details are not available, photographs may
be sent with available information to Pradeep Sharma/ KK Nanda who have kindly agreed
to coordinate with IMA in preparing the ‘then and now’ photographs. These photographs
should preferably be against a white background for clarity in reproduction on
souvenir. These photos must reach the above officers before 15 April 2016.
17. Photographs taken by the IMA photographers during
the GJR and items from the IMA Souvenir shop will be available on sale at the
Reception at the VB Mess.
Additional Assistance to Individuals
18. IMA has generously agreed to extend the
following assistance to individuals based on specific requests made to the
Reunion Coordination Cell, IMA:-
(a) Sports and outdoor recreational
facilities.
(b) Medical assistance.
(c)
Shared
services of civilian ‘room sahayaks’.
(d) Laundry facilities
(e) Civil hired transport on payment for
local visits in Dehradun.
(f) Limited cyber café facilities.
(g) Accommodation and messing on payment
for drivers accompanying persons attending the Reunion.
Documentation
19. All persons attending the Reunion are
required be in possession of photo ID proof. Veterans would have Retired
Officers ID Card while Ladies (and Chauffeurs driving private cars) must be in
possession of Passport/ Driving License/PAN Card.
20. All officers and ladies are requested to
wear their names tags during the Reunion. These will be issued on arrival at
the Reception Centre in Manekshaw Battalion.
21. Each attendee is requested to kindly carry
two recent passport size photographs (size 4.5 x 3.5 cms against a white
background) of the officer and spouse and submit the same on arrival at IMA.
22. Non Indian citizens are required to obtain
the formal clearance of the Military Intelligence Directorate; Integrated Headquarters
of the Ministry of Defence (Army), DHQ PO New Delhi 110011 to attend the GJR. A
copy of the application must be endorsed to the Reunion Coordination Cell, IMA.
The copy endorsed to IMA may please be sent to KK Nanda, who will further
submit the same to IMA on behalf of the concerned individual. The applications need
to be received well in time and must reach
MI Directorate and KK Nanda before 01May 2016.
Financial Aspects
23. The financial contribution by those
attending the Reunion(Ladies mentioned in Para 3 above are excluded) will be as
follows:-
(a) Couple - Rs.
9000/-.
(b) Single person - Rs. 6500/-.
24. Contributions are not restricted to amounts
given above; those desirous may contribute any amount in excess of the
stipulated amount.
25. All
individual financial contributions will be made by cheque (payable at par) /
bank draft/ bank transfer / e-transfer(preferably e-transfer) into an account
opened especially for the GJR. For any E-Transfer, kindly send to Basant Singh,
PS Gurung and Vijay Raheja, an email with the electronic transfer number and date
of transfer, in order to identify the transferee. Details of the account are as
follows:-

26. The above bank account is being operated by

Basant Singh at postal address given in Para 32 below. Any other notice or communications
pertaining to financial matters will be sent to officers mentioned in Para 25
above (by Courier / post / email). The last date for the receipt of individual
financial contributions is 30 April 2016.
While forwarding Cheque/ Draft/ Bank Transfer details, please intimate your PAN A/C number in all cases.
27. Upon conclusion of GJR, any unexpended
funds will be transferred to ‘The Commandant IMA, Dehradun’ for crediting the
amount under the head ‘Civilian Employees Benevolent Fund’ and the Bank account
closed.

Commemorative Souvenir/
CD
34. It is proposed to present a CD/pen drive to
all course mates to commemorate the historic occasion. The CD/ pen drive is
proposed to be made on similar lines as GJC-’12 wherein the following is
proposed to be included:
(a) Personal details of each course mate
(including departed souls). Though some CMs have already sent the same, there
are many who are still required to send.
(b) IMA photo (if available),
recent photo of each CM, single and with spouse to be sent by CMs if not
already sent.
(c) Memorable photographs
pertaining to NDA/ IMA days (and later days) to be contributed by CMs.
(d) List of Gallantry/ other
award winners from all the courses which passed out on 15th June 1966. (Details
to be sent by respective CMs)
(e) Anecdotes/ Snippets/ tit
bits/ nostalgic memories of NDA/IMA/YO/ later days, as well as Articles/ Write
Ups by CMs are proposed to be included in the CD. Those CMs wanting to
contribute are requested to send the same by 15th Apr. 2016.
35. All the above information/ material may

36. Material/ Photographs already sent and
included in the CD issued during GJC-’12 need not be sent again as most of the
relevant material will be transcribed to the present proposed CD/pen drive

this is life time opportunity to meet together and celebrate our Golden Jubilee
at our Alma Mater so all of you must make special efforts to attend the Golden
Jubilee Reunion. The whole idea is to celebrate, have a most memorable Reunion,
with lots of fun, joy, happiness and a sense of belonging to the famous courses
which passed out from IMA on 15th June 1966.
